RE: New Jayco Legacy is here

WOW, 100k. Good luck finding a buyer right now..... Yeah I agree that's a lot of money..And I just don't see where it's worth that much..There are better one's out there from what I see.Not wanting to bash Jayco they do build good campers.

RE: What 5th wheel hitch do you have and how do you like it?

I have a Airsafe 25k airride hitch with the Binkley Head I really like this hitch have nothing but good to say about it so far. My previous Hitch was a 15K RBW and that is also a good hitch I highly recommend RBW Hitches.Really liked the slide bar no second guessing or pull test.Great hitch for 1st time 5th wheel owners.

Propane Changeover

I'm having a problem when I turn the gas off it stays green will not move to Red...It does the same when a bottle runs out...So I don't know when the bottle I'm using runs out to go switch it over.. I went this weekend after about 4 weeks and it was red...Slowly open the bottle it went green. I turned the bottle off but it stayed green would not go back to red. That was after a 10 min. wait..What is causing it to do this??? It used to not do this

RE: Differance between Elite Suites, Mobile Suites and Sel...

All you have to do to see if a 3/4 ton can carry the pin weight of a MS, just run the numbers. Should be in a f350 with Tow Boss as a minimum and preferable a 450 or 4500 series. I agree on the DRV Elite & Mobile 450 or 550 would stay within the limits and tow well. But if you can go bigger that would be a plus.:) Buddy of mine just bought a Freightliner to tow a 34' Cardinal and very happy with the new truck..And said it tows well

RE: Front bedroom a/c or not?

Hi....I have a 2005 35' Cardinal.I ordered mine framed for 2nd Ac. I made one summer without the 2nd ac. It did ok with the 15.5 but it ran all day until the sun went down before it would shut down .I added a 13.5 for the bedroom and don't regret it one bit. If I were you I would get the 2nd ac. We sleep with the bedroom ac on and turn the other one off at night. Come visit us www.cardinalrvclub.org we have over 500 members and growing.

RE: Is my truck big enough to tow with

No hard feeling but I would feel better with the Duramax. I tow a 2005 35 footer Cardinal and have no problems at all. We have the 7.3 Powerstroke. No problems pulling are stopping. We seem to have good trailer brakes cause it's been nearly 5 yrs since we have had them serviced. And we have been in the mountains several times.Same clucth from day one and it's a 2000.On paper I'm overloaded but have airbags and hypertech power programmer and we have no problems. We just take it easy drive at 60-65 and enjoy the trip.

RE: Teton Help

I have heard that Carriage does make a fine RV. Any ideas on what the Carriage Royal would sale for? Again do you think you should start your "bickering" at about 30% of MSRP? In July, we took a mini-tour at the Carriage factory. DH & I were impressed, but we didn't really like some of the finishes or floorplan of the Royals. The next morning, we went on the DRV (DoubleTree) tour, we decided we'd stick with the same brand. They made so many new changes that we put a new custom Mobile Suite on order in August for one of their new floorplans. How we did it: I took the 2009 price lists and calculated the price we were expecting to pay and what our trade in was worth. Did ya'll order another Elite???? A camp host at our local SP just had his Elite Suites arrive a few weeks ago it's awesome Full Body Paint. But what surprised me is he also went out and bought a 3500 Gmc to tow it.i made a comment to him if the 3500 could handle it and he said no problem.. Wow that's a lot of trailer for a 3500 GMC.

RE: "Homeless in Seattle"... 5th wheel in shop, AGAIN!

I was talking to my neighbor at Santa Fe Skies CG in Santa Fe NM. He has a Sunnybrook. He's a fulltimer and travels the country. We were talking Rv's 5th wheels and he said he talks to people that own Hitchhikers and just like any brand out there he hears complaints from owners of Hitchikers with quality issuses .So they also have quality control problems.

RE: Need New Tires!!!!!

I have BFG TA's been 2 yrs. and so far it's been good they lose very little air. But I have to agree with Parkmanaa that they are not Michlen XPS.If you plan to do lots of traveling go with the XPS.

RE: Teton Help

Well...I really do thank you folks for the good advice. I am glad this forum is here. Since we want to stay on the road alot (almost full-timer's); we wanted a RV that was going to last. I have heard that Carriage does make a fine RV. Any ideas on what the Carriage Royal would sale for? Again do you think you should start your "bickering" at about 30% of MSRP? You folks are a great help. Thanks. Just seen one on lazydays website they or located in Tampa Fl.Sure they have more around the country. MSRP $214,706.00

RE: Teton Help

Hi Bayou316....I was looking around the Carraige website and I can tell you the carri-lite looks good. They have a 36' floorplan with a 30' slide take a look you might like it.If you want google Carraige Rv's.and take a look.If I was ready that would be the floorplan I would pick. I seen a motorhome in Albuq. NM and it had a similar slide a full wall. May not be your taste but Wish I could trade up now for that Carri- Lite floorplan I'm telling you about.

RE: Teton Help

Maybe you should take a look at A Kountry Aire by Newmar,a Elite Suites by Doubletree and last a Royals International by Carraige. At least they are still doing business at this time. I don't think I would want to buy a camper with knowing the manufacturer is closed down.Good luck with your decision, and let us know what you decide to buy.
